"The moon & sun are eternal travellers. Even the years wander on.

A lifetime adrift in a boat, or in old age leading a tired horse into the years, every day is a journey, and the journey itself is home.

From the earliest times there have always been some who have perished along the road. Still I have always been drawn by windblown clouds into dreams of a lifetime of wandering."

                                                        Matsuo Basho (1644-94) Zen Abbot

Welcome, Pilgrim

Planning your Pilgrimage to the Cathedral at Santiago de Compostela, along the Camino Frances or another of the Caminos? Excellent!

It is such an empowering thing to do. Yes, you will be nervous at first, yes you will get tired, but if the medieval pilgrim could do it wearing sackcloth and old sandals - along wolf, bear, and bandit infested tracks - well  - bring it on!

Ultreia!

Why not become a member of your  national Confraternity?

they will issue your Pilgrim Passport that you need to stay in refuges  and to obtain your Compostela

You will also get advice, guides and help

If you are a UK resident then yours is the

 Confraternity of  Saint James

Do join

To obtain your Passport & guides, yes, but also because it is an organisation that is truly worthy of your support

Top Tip

Weigh everything - including your rucksack - and pack light!

Don’t take what you might need

take only what you will need

Really, pack light!

When you are preparing that so important packing list

leave out the ‘just in case’ items

You won’t need them and they just add weight

If you find that you do need something, well,

there are lots of  shops in Spain
