Pilgrim, life is a spiritual journey. Or rather, we are spiritual beings undertaking a physical journey. To not be awed by this miracle of existence is to be sadly crippled, a sleep-walker.

Those, spiritual children of all ages, who do suddenly and inexplicably find themselves standing in awe when they look around them at this blue pearl we appear to live upon, at that moment cannot but feel compassion for, and deep connectedness with, all that exists.

And at that moment we finally are there, at the beginning and the home of the true journey, and at that moment we become (or are), in the most genuine sense of the word, Love.

And it is at that moment, when there is the awareness of, and the feeling of contact with, that sense of ‘Other', an inclusive higher power that is real beyond any human concept of realness, that we become fully human.  Awake.

The spiritual and the material, the inner and the outer, are then known as one, not two, and we find that we are no longer alone and that we are no longer afraid.

For those who have not understood, it is this that the teacher, Jesus, meant when he said “The Kingdom of Heaven is within you” and it is this that the East name enlightenment.

For it is this that is the heart of the awareness of all pilgrims who have felt Realisation, whatever religion or belief system they have come from, and it is this inner mystery that is also the original and true heart of the awareness of Christianity and of all true religions - and of your own deepest heart.

In that  fragment of eternity when for a timeless, endless moment

the games ended and reality began

I remembered

That I had always lived and never died

And that I am not alone

and have never been alone

And that this is all

whatever the illusion of separateness

One

You have two gifts -

your life and

this planet to live it on

Use them both wisely

and fill both with

Love

and fill both with Laughter

Books weigh as much as wood

If you pack a lot of books it is like packing a tree

Do you really want to carry a spare tree all day?

Ok, so take something

but not a library!
